As Brightworks’ Sustainable Buildings Technical lead, Elena Goldstein Lake uses her deep subject matter expertise in sustainable building to provide market-leading services and guide Brightworks’ service delivery for clients around the globe. For several years, she has served as Brightworks' lead sustainability consultant serving Meta's Global Data Center Program.

Trained in civil engineering with a graduate degree in green design, Elena’s project experience includes LEED projects, WELL building projects, ESG and corporate sustainability, and public-sector climate action plans. Her major clients include the City of Portland, Meta, and the University of Oregon. She has worked across diverse building portfolios from hyperscale data centers to publicly -funded projects for local communities. 

Having served for four years as a LEED Reviewer, Elena offers proven expertise for successfully guiding project teams through the LEED certification process. She currently serves on the USGBC Sustainable Sites Technical Advisory Group (TAG), where she uses her project experience to help shape the future of the rating system.

Elena speaks on green building design and construction at Carnegie Mellon University, Portland State University, and the University of Oregon.
