Brightworks facilitated the O&M team at Honda’s Iowa Parts Distribution Center in this successful study of facility infrastructure, operational practices, procurement practices, sustainable operations opportunities, and program costs.
To build on its successes with ISO 14001, Honda asked Brightworks to facilitate LEED EB:O&M feasibility assessments for its portfolio of parts distribution centers. Brightworks then developed a plan to certify two facilities under LEED EB:O&M.
One of six major facilities for which Brightworks has served Boeing, this warehouse and office houses Boeing’s Buyer-Furnished Equipment program, which allows aircraft buyers to install their own systems and features at the jet assembly site.
Though originally developed by Corporate Express, this warehouse and distribution center is now occupied by Staples. The building features natural daylight, motion-sensor lighting, water saving devices, ENERGY STAR appliances, and a green cleaning program.
A high-performance design, a LEED Silver certification, high visibility from surroundings, and a premier location motivated action sports retailer Zumiez to purchase this facility for use as its U.S. distribution center, serving its 377 retail stores.
