Alexandra's Role at Brightworks
Based in Boulder, CO, Alexandra Ramsden has advanced expertise in Living Building Challenge (LBC), LEED, WELL, and other sustainability frameworks, as well as regenerative design, bioinspired design, energy, and embodied carbon analysis and optimization. A member of the firm’s leadership team, she also helps lead Brightworks’ consulting operations, project delivery process, and business development efforts.

Alexandra joins Brightworks from her role as Principal at Rushing in Seattle, WA, where she led the company’s Sustainability, Energy & Commissioning practice and acted as account executive on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering projects. While at Rushing, she led teams and facilitated workshops in achieving a range of sustainability, energy, and engineering goals, including comprehensive sustainability plans, net-zero energy projects, pre-development ecosystem studies (regenerative design), full Living Building Challenge certification, and city–scale sustainability incentive programs.
As an advocate for sustainability both inside and outside the office, Alexandra has held leadership roles in multiple organizations and non-profits. She was a co-founder of Biomimicry Puget Sound and is currently Vice President of the board of directors for Clean Lake Union.
