Varusha Venkatraj manages decarbonization and embodied carbon projects. She specializes in whole building lifecycle assessments (WBLCAs), decarbonization, and sustainable materials.
Education

Before Brightworks, Varusha worked as a Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Project Engineer. She has worked on projects that successfully achieved LEED certification and has helped model building designs that delivered significant building cost reductions.
As a doctoral researcher, she successfully developed a machine learning model that could perform whole building lifecycle assessments (WBLCAs) and evaluate trade-offs between operation and embodied carbon. In addition, she has published several peer-reviewed Lifecycle Assessment (LCA)-based studies.
