    Alexandra Ramsden

    Director

Alexandra Ramsden is a Director at Brightworks Sustainability, where she helps lead Brightworks’ consulting operations, project delivery process, firm strategy and business development efforts.

With more than 20 years of experience in climate responsive design, Alexandra has developed expertise in Living Building Challenge (LBC), LEED, WELL, and other sustainability frameworks, as well as regenerative design, energy and embodied carbon analysis and optimization. At Brightworks, she leverages this depth of technical knowledge alongside strengths in integrative design, project oversight and team management, to deliver high performance project results and cultivate strong client relationships.

Her training in biomimicry allows her to guide project teams to establish mutually beneficial, valuable connections with their local ecosystems and history, enhancing project value, energy efficiency, environmental justice, and occupant health.

Alexandra joins Brightworks from a previous role as Principal at Rushing in Seattle, WA, where she led the company’s Sustainability, Energy & Commissioning practice and acted as account executive on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering projects. There she led teams in achieving a range of sustainability, energy and engineering goals, including comprehensive sustainability plans, net zero energy, pre-development ecosystem studies, regenerative design, full Living Building Challenge certification, city scale sustainability incentive programs, and facilitated workshops.

As an advocate for sustainability both inside and outside the office, Alexandra holds leadership roles for multiple organizations and non-profits. She is the Vice President on the non-profit board of Clean Lake Union and a co-founder of Biomimicry Puget Sound.
