Billy's Role at Brightworks
Billy Ulmer helps the organization adapt to a constantly evolving sustainability landscape by leading organizational development initiatives. He uses the principles of Collaborative Intelligence to design cross-functional learning experiences for Brightworkers. A senior leader of the Strategic Operations team, Billy helps shape the firm’s approach to strategic planning, organizational culture, internal communications, and professional development. Billy also oversees the proposal team.

Billy’s professional background includes several roles in non-traditional real estate, education, and communications. He was previously a co-owner of PAD Tiny Houses, one of the original companies in the do-it-yourself tiny house movement For PAD, Billy ran the marketing programs for the 2015 and 2017 Build Small Live Large Summits in Portland, Oregon.
Billy has presented on Collaborative Intelligence at the International Living Future Institute’s Living Future Unconference. His writing has appeared in the Congress for the New Urbanism Public Square, Portland Monthly, The Oregonian, TreeHugger, MindBodyGreen, Boingboing.net, and ChrisGuillebeau.com.
