    Brandon G. Sprague

    Principal

Brandon G. Sprague leads Brightworks Sustainability’s marketing and sales program. During his tenure, Brightworks has increased bookings at a 25% annual rate while strengthening its position of leadership and innovation in sustainability practice. Brandon shares additional corporate responsibilities for finance and HR with other Brightworks partners.

Brandon joined Brightworks with a comprehensive foundation in sales/revenue, general business operations, marketing, financial accounting, real estate, design, construction, and professional services from previous work at Boora Architects in Oregon and Crosswinds Communities in Michigan.

At Boora Architects, Brandon served as marketing manager during a period of transition as a new management team repositioned the firm as a design-first firm and elevated the geographic range of the practice from the West Coast to the broader United States. At Boora, Brandon managed pursuit teams or served on project teams for:

    • The headquarters for Adidas America and the Federal Reserve Bank for the Pacific Northwest
    • The NIKETOWN global retail store roll-out
    • The Stanford University School of Engineering and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business (Palo Alto, CA)
    • The Mondavi Center for the Arts (Davis, CA), the Mesa Arts Center (Mesa, AZ), and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (Cincinnati, OH)

Previously, at Crosswinds Communities, Brandon worked for an executive team from Deloitte as they as they modernized the firm’s management approach and created a market for new, market-value, owner-occupied housing in the City of Detroit where no such market had existed for 40 years. Throughout the Ann Arbor–Detroit–Flint CSA, Crosswinds also developed urban and suburban single- and multi-family housing for first-time home buyers, as well as commercial office buildings, industrial buildings, and warehouse spaces.

During his graduate studies in strategic communication, Brandon conducted original research into coaching as an approach to management and developed a strategic communication plan aiming to increase awareness of coaching’s benefits and increase favorability toward coaching among professionals.  This research applied the brand personality construct defined by Jennifer Aaker of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and tested the application of additional brand analysis tools at the category level.

Brandon’s significant other is an assistant professor of urban planning in Santa Clara University’s Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences, making Brandon a proud member of the SCU extended family.
