Courtney's Role at Brightworks

Courtney Hessler practices in Brightworks’ ESG & Corporate Sustainability practice, where she analyzes data and supply chains, conducts GHG inventories, and delivers comprehensive strategies for data improvement and carbon reduction. Courtney consults across various industries, including construction, entertainment and media, finance, manufacturing, professional services, real estate, and retail. She has served as an external expert peer reviewer for the EPA’s Supply Chain Greenhouse Gas Emission Factors for the 2019 NAICS-6 Commodities Datasets.

In her previous role as the sole sustainability employee at a plastic-free consumer goods company, Courtney led all sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and developed detailed strategies to improve packaging, ingredients, shipping, and greenhouse gas emissions. She successfully measured and offset 100% of the company’s business operation emissions, from cradle to consumer, and created a robust strategy for future reductions. Her other successes in this role included developing a Supplier Code of Conduct and leading the company’s CSR efforts through 1% For the Planet.
